Superblocks, a secure software development startup, has raised $23 million to combat the risks of vibe coding and the vulnerabilities in AI-generated software while accelerating the creation of scalable enterprise applications using React.
The latest funding round, led by Kleiner Perkins and joined by Spark Capital, Meritech, and Greenoaks, empowers Superblocks to double its 50-member team and strengthen its engineering and marketing units. With the fresh capital, the company aims to scale its AI-driven innovation and sharpen its focus on building safe and efficient enterprise applications.
At the heart of its offering stands Clark, a generative AI agent that builds secure, production-ready tools from natural language prompts. It doesn’t just spit out code—it orchestrates a whole development process using specialized agents for design, QA, IT policy, and security. This approach makes Superblocks a standout in the cluttered AI-generated software space.
React Reinvented for Enterprises
Clark writes in React, the world’s leading front-end framework, ensuring compatibility and extensibility. Unlike traditional vibe coding, which often skips enterprise-level safeguards, Clark integrates audit logging, data permissions, and private data protection by default. This ensures organizations gain the speed of AI-generated software without compromising on compliance or control.
With Clark, Superblocks allows developers to maintain agility while staying in full control. It offers production-grade builds that adhere to secure software development practices powered by large language models trained on internal enterprise contexts.
As generative AI tools lower the barrier to entry, vibe coding —developing apps without a deep understanding of the code —has become increasingly prevalent. However, a recent study showed that 62 percent of AI-generated software contains vulnerabilities. Superblocks aim to reverse that trend by combining ease of use with stringent oversight.
“In the last 90 days, vibe coding became popularized, and in the next 90 days, we’ll see our first major security breach from vibe coding tools that aren’t under the purview of IT,” said Brad Menezes CEO and co-founder of Superblocks.
“This trend is moving faster than IT can govern it — introducing new attack surfaces as a result. What started as well-intentioned employees trying to make the business more efficient will soon begin causing major security breaches. Clark was designed for this moment — giving internal teams the speed and access of consumer vibe-coding tools, but with the guardrails, governance, and security enforcement enterprises require,” he added.
A Future Built Securely
Currently, in early access, Clark reflects on how Superblocks plans to define the next chapter in secure software development. The company’s bet on React, a compliance-first architecture, and enterprise-trained AI provides a robust foundation as it scales globally.
“The rise of AI app generation is reshaping how companies operate internally,” said Yasmin Razavi, General Partner at Spark Capital. “Superblocks is uniquely positioned to help enterprises harness this shift, giving companies the speed of AI without compromising on security or control.”
In a world of rapidly evolving code and increasingly fast-moving threats, Superblocks offers what modern businesses crave: speed, structure, and security.
“Superblocks is taking a bold, inventive approach to one of the most expensive inefficiencies in business,” said Mamoon Hamid, partner at Kleiner Perkins. “Instead of focusing on making engineers more efficient, they’ve empowered more teams to build the internal applications needed for back office workflows and operations.”
