Voice-based risk assessment startup Clearspeed, initially developed for the US Department of Defense, has raised $60 million to expand its voice-based risk assessment technology, which is now revolutionizing insurance, fraud detection, financial services, and national security across global markets.
The voice-based risk assessment platform, which analyzes vocal patterns such as tone and cadence rather than words, is transforming how organizations detect fraud, manage insurance claims, and protect national security interests across more than 60 languages and 37 countries.
Voice-based risk assessment stands at the center of Clearspeed’s innovation. Instead of transcribing content, it’s AI that dissects how something is said. By analyzing hesitation, tone, and stress, the technology flags potential risks in real time, without human bias or delays.
The tool serves both commercial and government sectors, from streamlining insurance claims to accelerating background checks for national security clearances. In 2025, technology is no longer just tactical; it’s also strategic, delivering outcomes such as halved claims processing time and a 30-fold return on investment for insurance companies.
Strategic Backing with Global Intent
Align Private Capital led the $60 million Series D round. Other participants include IronGate Capital Advisors, Bravo Victor Venture Capital, and KBW Ventures. Notably, retired US Army General and former CIA Director David H. Petraeus participated again, reinforcing the tool’s relevance in national security and military-grade fraud detection.
At the heart of its usability lies Clearspeed Express, a cloud-based API and telephony integration solution that offers real-time scoring during live calls. It efficiently triages interactions, reducing fraud, improving operational workflows, and building trust during high-stakes conversations in the financial services and defense sectors.
Express Deployment, Real-Time Insights
Organizations can deploy this tool quickly without requiring an overhaul of their existing infrastructure. That ease of adoption, combined with reliability across over 60 languages, positions Clearspeed as a top-tier solution for modern financial services, complex vetting procedures, and even insurance onboarding.
Clearspeed will use the new capital to expand its product development and global footprint. With rising demand across industries, its voice-based risk assessment technology offers a solution that’s fast, scalable, and ready for complex modern threats in fraud, insurance, financial services, and national security.
“Clearspeed has demonstrated true dual-use potential with scalable commercial results and meaningful impact in high-stakes environments,” Align Private Capital’s Anna Nekoranec said. “It’s rare to see a solution that can reduce fraud, mitigate security threats and save significant costs without creating friction for the end user. This is the innovation needed to build smarter, more human-centered systems of trust.”
