Quilt, a Redwood City, CA-based smart home climate solutions startup featuring advanced smart home climate systems, has raised $33 million in Series A funding to provide energy efficiency and contribute to the clean energy transition by revolutionizing traditional home climate systems.

The round was led by Energy Impact Partners and Galvanize Climate Solutions, with participation from notable investors such as Lowercarbon Capital, Gradient Ventures, MCJ Collective, Garage Capital, Incite Ventures, and Drew Scott. “The promise of the energy transition is that the future won’t just be sustainable – it will be much better,” said Paul Lambert, Co-founder and CEO of Quilt.

“This promise has attracted world-class talent and investors to Quilt. Together, we’ve built the smartest way to heat and cool a home for any homeowner who cares about comfort, control, design, or their energy bills,” added Paul Lambert.

The primary goal of Quilt is to address the significant contribution of homes to global warming emissions in the U.S., which accounts for 20 percent of the country’s total emissions. By developing advanced smart home climate solutions, the startup aims to provide homeowners with more efficient and intuitive options, ultimately contributing to the clean energy transition.

A Team of Industry Veterans Developing Smart Home Climate Systems

Quilt has assembled a best-in-class team, including hires from tech giants like Google, Apple, Nest, and Tesla. This wealth of experience enables the company to create smart home climate systems that surpass existing solutions’ energy efficiency and user-friendliness.

The Series A funding will enable Quilt to enhance its launch and expand its smart home climate solutions into homes nationwide. The company plans to begin its rollout in the Bay Area and Los Angeles before expanding to other U.S. markets to meet the growing demand for advanced, eco-friendly heat pump options to promote energy transition. Quilt’s waitlist already includes thousands of interested homeowners eagerly awaiting the product’s availability.

“One of our core beliefs for decarbonization is doing the right thing for the planet, which is also easy. Quilt’s integrated hardware and smart technology perfectly optimizes customer comfort, energy costs, and demand flexibility, enabling rapid residential electrification while still ensuring electric grid reliability,” said Sameer Reddy, Managing Partner, Energy Impact Partners.

Smart Home Climate Solutions

Quilt’s smart home climate solutions are designed to blend seamlessly into any home environment, offering a sleek and modern aesthetic. The company’s systems provide homeowners with intuitive room-by-room control, occupancy awareness, and predictive technology, ensuring unmatched energy efficiency and comfort.

As an all-electric and rebate-eligible solution, Quilt’s offering is an attractive option for homeowners seeking to upgrade their home climate systems while contributing to the clean energy transition.

“We’ve reached an inflection point in the energy transition, and the shift from gas to electric heating and cooling is imperative and inevitable. Quilt’s approach to climate control gives homeowners a superior heat pump experience while reducing their energy bills,” said Tom Steyer, Co-Executive Chair, Galvanize Climate Solutions.

With its innovative approach to smart home climate solutions and the backing of leading climate investors, Quilt is well-positioned to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and revolutionize how we heat and cool our homes in the clean energy transition journey.

“Quilt is going to make a massive impact on how we heat and cool our homes and put the control back in the hands of the homeowner, making sure the future of home climate control is not just innovative, but also undeniably cool,” said investor, entrepreneur, and HGTV’s Property Brother Drew Scott.
