OpusClip Secures $30M in Funding to Revolutionize AI-Powered Video Repurposing

OpusClip is on a mission of transforming long-form videos into shareable, viral clips for social media platforms

OpusClip, an AI-driven video repurposing startup, has raised $30 million in a Series A round led by Millennium New Horizons with participation from Samsung Next, GTMfund, and DCM Ventures and is enhancing its platform with the new ClipAnything feature.

The startup is on a mission of transforming long-form videos into shareable, viral clips for social media platforms.

OpusClip aims to utilize the funds to expand its operations and enhance its development efforts. The company’s innovative platform enables users to automatically convert long videos into short, vertical clips tailored for platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. This tool is precious for content creators looking to boost their social media reach without the hassle of manual editing.

OpusClip, Revolutionizing Video Editing with AI

OpusClip uses AI to adjust clips for different aspect ratios and optimizes them for viral presentation by detecting speakers, moving objects, and the most compelling hooks. It can extract highlights from various video parts and rearrange them into cohesive, high-impact clips. This feature is particularly effective for video podcasts, educational content, commentary videos, product reviews, and motivational speeches.

With ClipAnything, a new feature currently in beta, OpusClip provides even more flexibility by allowing users to guide the AI on how to clip videos. Users can specify the type of content they’re editing, such as sports or interviews, and even prompt the AI to find specific moments most likely to go viral. Unlike other tools, ClipAnything analyzes not just transcribed dialogue but also visual and audio elements, making it a powerful tool for creating engaging content.

Expanding Reach and Features

Since its launch in June, OpusClip has garnered over six million users, including prominent names like Billboard, Telefónica, and Univision. The platform offers various subscription plans, with a free option allowing up to 60 minutes of video processing per month. Paid plans provide additional processing time, enhanced social media scheduling, access to AI-generated B-roll material, and silence removal.

As the company continues to innovate, cofounder and CTO Jay Wu highlights that OpusClip is constantly improving its AI models based on user feedback and the performance of generated videos on platforms like YouTube. The ClipAnything feature is expected to leave beta within a few months, with more features in development to make video editing even more accessible.

OpusClip is positioned to save video creators hours of manual editing, enabling those without the time, skills, or software to produce high-quality short clips effortlessly.
