Dressed by Data, Gensmo Gets $60M to Style the Future

Gensmo will use this capital to accelerate its AI development, expand across global fashion hubs, and enhance its virtual try-ons

Gensmo, the AI fashion agent transforming virtual try-ons in the field of personalized fashion, fashion e-commerce, style discovery, and intelligent shopping, has secured $60 million in seed funding to lead the next era of tech-driven personal style.

In a show of confidence, investors have poured $60 million into Gensmo’s vision of becoming the definitive AI fashion agent. The funding marks one of the largest early-stage investments in fashion tech to date. It fuels Gensmo’s mission to create intelligent, personalized fashion journeys that blend machine learning with the art of self-expression.

Gensmo will use this capital to accelerate its AI development, expand across global fashion hubs, and enhance its virtual try-ons, mood-driven recommendations, and seamless shopping integrations.

“Our goal is not to make people more productive,” says Ning Hu, Founder and CEO of Gensmo. “It’s about helping them feel good in what they wear and more sure about their taste.”

One Agent, Infinite Looks

Launched in December 2024, Gensmo empowers users to move from an outfit idea to reality in seconds. Its virtual try-ons feature uses digital avatars to preview clothing in real-time, eliminating guesswork and bridging the gap between inspiration and purchase.

Built on proprietary AI, Gensmo provides personalized fashion experiences that transcend trends. It understands individual tastes and budgets, pulling pieces from thrift gems to high-end boutiques, all within one fluid interface.

“The future of fashion isn’t about AI replacing personal style. It’s about using technology to enhance individuality and empower users to express themselves confidently,” Ning added.

Unlike fragmented shopping experiences, Gensmo offers an integrated fashion e-commerce platform where users can explore, compare, and purchase without ever leaving the app. It connects directly to e-commerce giants and niche retailers alike, creating a truly intelligent shopping journey.

Gensmo’s “Vibe Imagine” tool enables users to visualize aesthetic scenes or trip-inspired looks, making style discovery more immersive, imaginative, and joyful than ever before.

A Team Where AI Meets Fashion DNA

CEO Ning Hu, who formerly led Mobile Search at Google and served as a VP at Alibaba, co-founded Gensmo alongside experts from both the AI and fashion sectors. Her PhD from Carnegie Mellon underscores the technical depth powering the platform.

The company operates across innovation hotspots—New York, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and Seattle, ensuring it stays ahead of both fashion and tech trends. The $60 million funding round enables Gensmo to hire top-tier talent, refine its models, and scale to meet growing global demand.

Since its beta release, Gensmo has generated over 10 million fashion matches and indexed 100 million products. On social platforms like TikTok and Instagram, the app is gaining momentum, with millions of views and thousands of daily outfit shares fueling viral excitement.

Users don’t just browse, they return daily to build wardrobes, plan event outfits, and discover their signature style. Gensmo’s AI fashion agent doesn’t replace human taste—it elevates it.

Gensmo’s technology doesn’t erase human intuition; it celebrates it. Its core belief is that beauty lies in emotion, culture, and individuality. The platform’s AI continuously learns from human interactions, reshaping style discovery into an intuitive, delightful, and empowering experience.
