Autonomous transit company Beep has raised $52.7 million in funding to scale its transit operations, expand shuttle deployments, launch NAVI in Jacksonville, and accelerate mobility solutions through cutting-edge AV technology and transit innovation.
Beep is rolling out its Neighborhood Autonomous Vehicle Innovation (NAVI) services soon. The round, co-led by Intel Capital and Blue Lagoon Capital, positions the Florida-based company to strengthen its AV technology footprint in the United States.
With the launch of NAVI on June 30, 2025, Beep will deploy driverless, ADA-compliant Ford E-Transit shuttles along Jacksonville’s Bay Street Innovation Corridor, part of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s (JTA) Ultimate Urban Circulator (U2C) program. This makes NAVI the nation’s first fully autonomous public transit system.
A Bold Step into the Future of AV Technology
Beep’s autonomous transit platform, powered by AutonomOS, offers AV-agnostic vehicle supervision, fleet orchestration, and real-time operational control. The company integrates its software with Oxa’s automated driving system to deliver scalable mobility solutions that improve public access and transit innovation.
In 2023, Beep collaborated with Oxa to bring its Oxa Driver software to autonomous vehicles in the US. This partnership enabled Beep to pilot an 18-month program at Hawaii’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, further validating its commitment to safe, efficient shuttle deployments.
Amid this rapid growth, Beep appointed Kevin Reid, its long-serving board chairman, as the new CEO. Under Reid’s leadership, Beep aims to expand its reach in key US markets and refine its autonomous transit capabilities by leveraging real-time data insights from 38 successful shuttle deployments across nine states.
Unlike competitors like Waymo or Zoox, Beep has chosen to focus exclusively on shuttle networks for both public and private communities. This niche approach provides a strategic edge in delivering sustainable, accessible, and integrated first- and last-mile mobility solutions that are seamlessly integrated with existing transit systems.
NAVI Ushers in a New Era for Urban Transit
NAVI, Beep’s flagship initiative, will launch with 14 autonomous vehicles operating along a 3.5-mile corridor with 12 stops connecting downtown Jacksonville’s core to its Sports and Entertainment District. Beep will manage both operations and command-center logistics from JTA’s new Autonomous Innovation Center, ensuring 24/7 oversight.
Beep and JTA anticipate that the NAVI service will enhance safety, reduce emissions, and improve urban mobility for thousands of daily commuters. By embedding AV capabilities into city infrastructure, Beep continues to redefine how cities move people.
Founded in 2018, Beep has positioned itself at the forefront of autonomous transit by merging cutting-edge technology with a practical transit vision. Its mobility solutions offer eco-friendly, scheduled, and on-demand services designed for real-world deployment. Beep’s continuous learning from its shuttle deployments has led to improved safety features, better user experience, and more substantial community impact.
From Hawaii to Florida, Beep’s journey exemplifies how AV technology can deliver real benefits when focused on solving actual mobility challenges. The NAVI launch and funding injection mark a significant milestone in its mission to reshape modern transportation.
