Aurelian AI Secures $14M Series A Funding to Transform 911 Centers

Aurelian AI is redefining how emergency communications centers (ECCs) manage overwhelming call volumes

Seattle-based startup Aurelian AI has raised $14 million in Series A funding to transform emergency communications centers by utilizing its AI voice assistant to manage non-emergency calls, reduce dispatcher burnout, and enhance public safety.

The Series A funding was led by NEA, with support from Y Combinator, FUSE, Liquid 2, and Palm Drive Capital.

Aurelian AI is redefining how emergency communications centers (ECCs) manage overwhelming call volumes. With staffing shortages and dispatcher burnout intensifying nationwide, its AI voice assistant offers immediate relief. The system automates non-emergency calls, such as noise complaints and parking violations, allowing human dispatchers to focus on urgent public safety cases.

“911 is in a crisis: severe understaffing and ever-expanding responsibilities have made ECCs overextended and overworked. At Aurelian, our sole purpose is to help them best serve their communities,” says CEO and cofounder Max Keenan.

“911 call-takers are trained to handle emergencies, not parking complaints. Aurelian reduces burnout and helps telecommunicators stay focused on the most critical situations,” added Keenan.

Aurelian Expanding National Reach

Since its launch in May 2024, Aurelian AI has rapidly deployed across multiple ECCs in the United States. The platform now serves nearly five million Americans. By automating an average of 74 percent of non-emergency calls, the AI voice assistant saves dispatchers about three hours daily, easing workplace strain and strengthening community service.

One standout feature of Aurelian AI is its multilingual capacity. Supporting over 35 languages through voice, SMS, and web chat, the system enables emergency communications centers to connect more effectively with underserved populations. This inclusivity enhances public safety and ensures that residents from diverse backgrounds receive timely assistance.

Strategic Investment for Growth

The $14M Series A funding provides Aurelian AI with the capital to scale its presence and serve more ECCs across the United States. With leading investors backing its mission, the company positions itself as a vital force in reshaping emergency communications and ensuring sustainable public safety solutions for the future.

“We’re proud to support Aurelian’s mission to empower Emergency Communication Centers and their dispatchers to keep our communities safe,” said Mustafa Neemuchwala, Partner at NEA. “What excites us most is the passion that Max, James, and the Aurelian team bring to public safety. In a year, they’ve earned the trust and respect of ECCs across the United States and are already serving millions of people.”
