San Francisco-based Agtonomy raised $22.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Momenta to revolutionize agriculture through strategic partnerships, driving the development of advanced autonomous and AI solutions that promise significant agricultural innovation and propel digital transformation in agriculture to new heights. The Series A also witnessed participation from Doosan Bobcat North America and Toyota Ventures.
Agtonomy, under the leadership of CEO Tim Bucher, specializes in providing innovative solutions to pressing challenges in the agricultural industry. “Agtonomy’s technology is built to be embedded in equipment and implements, upskilling available labor,” said Bucher.
The company collaborates with equipment Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Bobcat, embedding intelligence in tractors and implements. This infusion of “smarts” drives digital transformation, offering scalable solutions that address issues like labor scarcity, sustainability, and shrinking profit margins farmers face.
“By collaborating with established OEMs, we fast-track our sustainable technology to market, delivering essential solutions to address the pressing challenges of labor shortages and climate change for farmers and land maintenance operators,” he added.
Momenta Leads Series A Funding
Momenta, recognized as a leader in industrial impact investment, spearheaded the Series A funding for Agtonomy. With this capital injection, Agtonomy aims to advance its customer pilot program, ensuring widespread adoption of its transformative technologies.
