Supply Change Capital, a Latina-led venture capital firm based in Los Angeles, CA, and Chicago, IL, has successfully closed its inaugural $40 million fund.

The firm aims to drive innovation in the future of food, investing in early-stage food and agriculture technology companies that address sustainability, climate, and diversity.

Led by Noramay Cadena and Shayna Harris, Supply Change Capital has deployed over $13 million across 15 pioneering companies since June 2021, with 80 percent of the portfolio comprising Latinx, Black, and Female Founder.

Unprecedented Investment in the Future of Food

Supply Change Capital aims to propel innovations that tackle critical sustainability, climate, and diversity challenges, shaping a more inclusive and sustainable food system for future generations.

Supply Change Capital’s approach sets it apart in the venture capital landscape. Unlike traditional investment firms, Supply Change Capital is driven by a unique lens, encompassing culture and climate, enabling it to identify and invest in technologies that underpin a more resilient food system.

The firm’s investment philosophy centers on fostering positive environmental, health, and diversity outcomes, positioning it at the forefront of transformative change within the $10 trillion global food industry.

Meet the Veterans Behind Supply Change Capital

The driving force behind Supply Change Capital’s success lies in its dynamic leadership. Noramay Cadena and Shayna Harris, two industry veterans, met at MIT Sloan in 2009. With four degrees from MIT and a Fulbright Scholarship, the partners have already made over 100 investments, showcasing their unrivaled expertise.

Noramay Cadena, a former mechanical engineer at Boeing, transitioned to venture capital in 2015, bringing a wealth of experience and innovation. Meanwhile, with her impressive C-Suite executive leadership and strategy experience, Shayna Harris has been a transformative figure in the fast-growth food and software startup landscape.

Paving the Way for a More Inclusive and Sustainable Food System

Supply Change Capital is one of the largest Latina-led funds. The Venture Capital firm is committed to diversity and inclusion.

“Supply Change Capital represents the future of food and the venture industry,” said Johnny Tran, managing director of 301 INC, the venture capital arm of General Mills.

“As a leading investment firm in early-stage food and agriculture technology companies, Supply Change Capital has a pulse on the cultural, demographic, and sustainability shifts needed to usher in the next wave of groundbreaking innovations for our industry,” added Johnny Tran

With the inaugural fund, the venture capital firm is empowering the next generation of food and agriculture technology companies to create a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.
